Tool storage case.

For the case piece project at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, I made a solid Walnut case with quartersawn oak panels in the doors. The shelves are all adjustable, except for the center shelf which is through-mortised into the case-sides. This case was made to hold my spare hand planes and assorted tools in the 3 lower drawers.

Half-blind dovetails.

Using a new technique we learned at wood school, I hand-cut the quartersawn oak to fit the half-blind dovetails cut into the walnut fronts.

Custom-made pulls.

I made all the handles and pulls from zebra wood scraps I had. The drawer pulls are set into carved recesses made using a gouge and sandpaper to smooth out the oval-shaped indents.
