A tea box made entirely of claro walnut on the base and quarter sawn walnut for the framed top. The framed panel top is made of quilted maple. The bottom panel is solid walnut. The grain of the base wraps almost entirely around the piece. Part of a set of 7 tea boxes made in December 2022. All of the boxes feature a solid hardwood base and a “framed-panel” top. The boxes are made using a hidden-splined-miter at each corner and they have a base panel dadoed into a bottom groove. The boxes are divided into four matching compartments inside. Each quadrant can hold up to about 10 standard tea-pouches. The tops have a small rabbet cut into them so that they rest inside the interior of the base. The boxes are all finished with polyurethane on the interior and OSMO (wax/oil finish) on the exterior; a light buffing of a mix of carnauba wax and beeswax completes the process. All of the boxes measure roughly: 18 cm (Length) x 15cm (Width) x 10cm (Height). Each box is unique and they all vary slightly in some dimensions. The price includes shipping/handling.
